No Disregard

I saw Hot Dog Bush on TV last night. He looked angry, disturbed, peeved, and reckless; in a word he was desperate.

My mother wrote recently to tell me, "Michael, don't come to America. This country is so screwed up, and the economy is in shambles. Bush has ruined and bankrupted the country. I am so worried for you and your family if you come to the USA at this time of economic disaster."

Great news! I get to stay in Thailand a few more months. We are just returning from a beach resort where I watched Thun learn how to swim. Now we will go to the country house for a few days and then to a river resort.

Life is SOOO HARDDDDDD in Thailand.

Anyway, to see Bush get so worked up like that; something is going right in America. He was talking out of his ass more than usual. We are accustomed to hearing the Education President describe the disastrous No Child Left Behind Act by saying:

As yesterday's positive report card shows, childrens do learn when standards are high and results are measured.

but yesterday he was getting scientific on us. He was talking about how proud he was of the Saudis (who fund the Taliban) for digging up old oil wells, and he was using slanting hand gestures to describe the engineering technique! Then he described the evil Taliban:

"They have no disregard for human life,"

And of course, we all know why oil prices have gone through the roof and the economy is in tatters: it's those damn environmentalists!
