There was a lot of ankle-deep water in Bangkok yesterday. As usual, the politicians are ankle-deep in their own lies.
Nidhiprinya School, where we send Thun and Jason, costs about $100 per semester. In contrast, the school where I used to work costs almost $20,000 per year.
Yesterday, it rained hard in Bangkok and there was flooding at Nidhiprinya School. The rising water forced its way into Jason's classroom. The three teachers immediately plopped the 3-year-olds onto tables, and the teachers continued to teach in ankle-deep water.
When Jason came home he was so excited; he could talk about nothing else. "Daddy! Naam tuam, Naam tuam, Naam Yut-yut!" (Flooding, flooding, there was so much water!)
Too bad we can't afford a $20,000 school. There, they have no flooding. There, children experience classwork and homework day after day. Life is handed to them on a silver platter.
But real life isn't like that.
