Today I received an email. It was my rejection letter from the writers' retreat. It was brief, polite and well-written, as a rejection letter from a writers' retreat should be.
It's OK. I deserved it, especially since I haven't published anything for 20 years.
Rejection helps to build character. That's why my character is so feeble, because I never had the nerve to ask out the pretty girls who would have rejected me.
Time for Plan B. There was a Plan B, right? I seem to remember that there was a Plan B . . .

One hundred percent on the rejection building character. Here's the trick, from an expert in the rejection factor: send out at least 4-6 items a month. The rejections lose their sting. And the averages are better.
