Yesteray was Thun's birthday. He turned nine.
Or ten, if you believe him.
In the Thai system, your first birthday is the day you are born, so your first year of life on this planet, you are "one." After a year on this planet, you reach your 2nd birthday, etc.
So Thun insists he just turned ten, but I think he's nine.
"Happy Birthday!" I told him, "now you're nine!"
"No, ten!" he repsonded.
"No, nine!" I corrected him.
"Ten!"
"Nine!"
"Eleven!" he changed his tactic.
"Wait a minute," I cautioned him, "we're not negotiating a price, we're disputing a fact. you can't just name a ridiculous number."
"You're 99!" he shouted.
"Ok, you're ten."

Erm, I don't think that's the Thai system. I think you are 0 years old at birth according to Thais. I was under the impression that it was the Chinese system where you were 1 year old at birth.
