101 Days

Today I put a new Yahoo Widget on my computer: the Countdown Clock. I have 101 days left at my job.

I have been six years ath this school but the closer I get to the end, the more excited I am. I am tired. There are a lot of things wrong with the school, but there are a lot of things right, too.

The students and their families are very nice and have always shown me a lot of love and respect. The administration is . . . , well, like educational administrators everywhere.

They sit around in meetings all day and discuss things like: what muffins should we have at our next meeting? And that is the high point of their discussion!

I prefer discussing the Binomial Distribution with sharp young minds.

I am so happy that I never got into administration. Once I was mad at the bosses at my old school back in the States, and I told my ex-wife: school administrators are the lowest form of life on earth, far lower than pond scum.

She was in law school at the time. She responded, "Oh, yeah? how about law school administrators: half-lawyer, half educational bureaucrat, how low is THAT??"

Good point.
