Pimp My Ride

I swear that was the LAST pizza party I will ever host. What a mess! I suppose the students had fun; I hope so. They paired the math lesson with lunchtime and made it a double lesson. Hideaki was the VJ and he kept putting on silly videos. The worst was a TV show called Pimp My Ride. It was a crass celebration of commercialism, consumerism, materialism, gangsterism, and every other "ism" that I find revolting. It reminded me of why I left America. A gang of car mechanics took a girl's Chevy Suburban and pimped it. Among other things, they put eleven televisions in it. Who needs eleven televisions in her car???

I googled Pimp My Ride and I wasn't surprised to learn that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Pimp My Ride have teamed up to Go Green and Pimp the Environment!!!!

I think next year is The Year of the Environment at our school. It won't surprise me if some enthusiastic teacher tries to hook up with Pimp My Ride. Maybe Hideaki can start Thailand's version of Pimp My Ride in his DT class and convert a Mercedes Benz to biodiesel.
