USA

I've been living outside of America for 9 years now, and they've probably been the best 9 years of my life. Most of that boils down to Poo and the boys, of course.

I'm not against America, though. I realize that, like any country, the United States has its good points and bad points. And I'm thankful that I was raised to think for myself.

Recently, my Thai teacher asked me, "do you like Michael Jackson?"

"No," I answered bluntly.

"What????? But you're American????"

Just because someone is American, that doesn't mean I have to like him. I don't like George Bush, either.

When I cheer for Brazil against the USA in women's soccer, I'm cheering for a soccer team, not a country. I don't like the arrogance of the USA team and their fans. Also, the Brazilians play with more style.

There are some times when I cheer for American teams, though. I cheer for the USA in men's cricket.

Unfortunately, we lost to Jersey.

As in that small island in the English Channel with like 10,000 people?

You got it, Tagore!

I didn't think any of my readers (except Mrugank) would be so erudite as to know where Jersey is, but I should never underestimate the Tagorler!

Can you believe that the world's most powerful (or 2nd) nation of 300 million people lost to a puny island of 10,000?

That's why I love sports: unlike warfare, the little guy has a chance!
