Another Day in Bangkok

Perhaps I should feel guilty, but now every day is a "lazy day."

The weather is so nice and cool. Thailand is experiencing a cold snap, and I have never felt so comfortable in Bangkok. In the evenings, one almost needs a sweater! This morning I was walking around, and I saw the most curious sight. The soi dogs in my neighborhood--street mutts who have no owner--were all wearing shirts! The soi dogs live on the street, but for each soi dog there is a food vendor who tosses the unsold food to the mutt. Apparently, the food vendors, feeling "cold" themselves, decided to clothe the dogs. Of course it's 18 degrees (about 65 degrees Fahrenheit), so the dogs don't need the shirts, but the people assumed they must be cold.

The dogs were wearing the most ridiculous, mismatched, raggedy, throw-away t-shirts, usually proclaiming something like "Arkansas Physical Education" or "Miller Family Reunion".
