Annapurna Circuit Day 13 -- Obama

This morning was November 5th, so November 4th night time in the States.

We came to a Dutch Bakery which claimed to have internet. I popped my head in and sure enough there was one computer with nobody on it, so I colonized it. It took 6 minutes to download the live polling data. Several Europeans and Asians saw me looking at a map of the US, with some states blue, others red, and others gray. They knew what I was doing, but they couldn't understand the map. There was no information from the West Coast yet, but I could see that with California, Obama would win. Finally, some guy with a German accent asked me, "so, who vins, Obama or McCain?"

"Obama!" I reported and the cafe collectively let out a cheer.

Later, a Nepali boy asked me, "which country you come from?"

"USA" I answered.

"You like Obama?" he asked.

"Of course."

"Of course," he laughed. "Just like Nepali people. Just like everybody. Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure," I said.

"Who likes McCain?"
