I saw 11 movies in 7 days and I'm all filmed out. The best was: Searching For a Midnight Kiss. It's filmed in LA but it's a very Austin, Texas film.
The funniest thing to happen was that Jason got to see his first Art house flick. It was a documentary about prostitution in Cambodia.
The festival scheduled a film from Cambodia, so I said to Poo, without even reading the promo about the movie, "let's go watch the Cambodian film together." I thought she would like it, since she is 12.5% Cambodian and she understands some of the Khmer language.
Unfortunately, that day Jason was sick with a sniffle and he stayed home from school. But we had already planned to see the film. "That's OK," said Poo, "Jason can watch the movie. too."
We went to the theater complex, and then I read the promo. "Poo!" I warned, "Jason can't watch it; it has adult content; it's a documentary about prostitution in Cambodia!"
"It's OK," she said, "I want to see how he reacts."
Fortunately, there was no sex. It was just interviews with teenage prostitutes dealing with poverty, violence, AIDS, and worst of all, the evil mamasan. Jason's reaction was hilarious. For the first 15 minutes he was captivated. He stared at the screen like it was the weirdest thing he had ever seen: "Where's the gunfire? the expolsions? Where's Superman, Batman or Ironman? Why is nobody flying? It just looks like people talking. Is this really a movie?"
Then, he looked at me like, "Dad, this is boring!" and he rested his head upon Poo's lap, his feet upon mine, and went to sleep.

Awww that's so cute.....
It sounds like my first reaction when I watched a "serious" film (Dead Poets' Society). The difference was that I was 9. :p
"I saw 11 movies in 7 days ..." Sounds to me as if you have way too much time on your hands. What you really need to do is to mark a couple of sets of "segments of a polygon" portfolios to fill in your day a bit. It disturbs me that you are enjoying yourself way too much. I almost get the impression that you would prefer not to be turning up at school before 6:00 am every morning and working 10 hour days! What is wrong with you man? - Barry
Mr. Barry, that's from someone who took a whole year off!!
