"To Break" is an interesting verb. It can mean so many things, even a dance. As a transitive verb, with a direct object that is a living thing, it can also mean "to weaken or destroy one's spirit or resistance" i.e. to "break down", or to overwhelm. For example, "to break a prisoner" under torture mean to get him to sob and rat out his comrades; "to break a horse" means to destroy the wild, bucking impulse and turn him into an obedient trotter.
For 3+ years, Jason slept whenever he wanted to sleep. He woke up whenever he wanted to wake up. This is a natural sleeping pattern, as evidence by dogs, sloths, and lions. Can you imagine telling a lion, "time to wake up and brush your teeth!" Ridiculous.
But now Jason must wake up every morning at 6:45, brush his teeth, put on his uniform and go to school. Naturally, he cries and fights and says. "I want to sleep! I don't want to go to school!"
Poo enlists my help. I carry him, kicking and screaming, to the bathroom, and let her take over. Poo says, "we must break him."
I don't think I want to join this project.
