Teacher reports

I have just spent 14 hours writing teacher reports, and I am nowhere near being finished.

Most parents don't read them, but we have to write them. I want to write an article some time about all those things that are written but are never read. What did the authors think when they were writing them.? Like my former PhD dissertation:
"Measurements of the analyzing powers of the polarized proton plus
polarized Carbon-13 reaction at 800 Mev."

About 60 pages into it I realized: nobody is ever going to read this! So I turned it into a 60-page Master's Thesis that nobody ever read.

If you're writing teacher reports, you need a sense of humor and an occasional funny comment to break the monotony. Like the time I wrote Niqui's report in Spanish (actually Kyu, a Korean boy, wrote it in Spanish). It was something like this:
A SEASAC nosotros ganamos la medalla de oro!!!!

except there were 17 upside-down exclamation marks to go with it.

After the censors read it, I was dragged into the vice-principal's office. I was in trouble.

"But I know the family--they will have a luagh," I protested, "Niqui herself told me: 'it's funny, My Mom will laugh.'"

"It's totally inappropriate!" I was scolded. And I begrudgingly changed it to something boring.

As one teacher says: "what this school needs is more fun and less work!"
