I spent all day dealing with immigration issues. We went to the Thai Passport Agency, got stuck in traffic for an hour, waited in line an hour and a half and were eventually told: no passport for Jason. It seems that Poo is registered in Hua Hin but Jason is registered in Bangkok, so we need to go to Hua Hin to re-register Jason there.
Coming back we had a taxi driver high on ya-ba (crazy medicine, aka speed). He was inventing new lanes: if two cars were appropriately side-by-side on the highway, he would zip in between them with a centimeter to spare. He was so fidgety that he took his seat belt on and off five times during the journey. He was honking his horn the whole way and he had his emergency flashing lights on, too.
I know the world is enduring a methamphetamines epidemic but I rarely see direct signs of it. Today, I was scared. That's a scary drug.
Then I walked to the American Embassy where, dripping in sweat, I waited an hour to be told "sorry, we don't have your forms, come back after January 2nd."
In India I would have a man-servant, or as they say, a "boy", to stand in these queues. I need to move back to India.
I'm not good at this. I feel like I worked all day and accomplished nothing. I get stressed out too easily. I told Poo, "I HATE this!"
She said, "For me it's no problem, because all you have to do is wait, be patient, and calm down. But when I see you sighing and gasping and pacing back and forth, I have a heavy heart."
Even the security guard at the Skytrain station told me to stop pacing. He was obviously worried that I would throw myself onto the tracks.
So, I have a goal for the next two months: "wait, be patient and calm down."

Ah, the Old Indian Way : wait, be patient and send the boy to stand in the queue
Good luck with that, Mick. You do "come by it honestly", as Mom would say. What happened to that meditation progream? Did you graduate already?
