Guru

I try to get students to participate in the lessons and not just scream at them all the time. Sometimes I get Ha-Woon to teach the class, which is good for the others, because they see what a Year 11 can do, and good for Ha-Woon, because he has to explain things in simple terms, which is not easy for him. So we had a little problem yesterday and I needed to leave the room for a few minutes. I don't want to always call on Ha-Woon, and it was Diwali, so I called on Ayush, who was dressed very elegantly in a dhoti kurta, or something like that:

"Ayush, teach vectors to the class."

He approached the front of the room.

"Class," I added, "this is your teacher; you can call him Guru."

We sorted out the little problem, and I returned to find Ha-Woon teaching the class! "Guru!" I exclaimed, "why are YOU not teaching the class?"

"You see," Ayush answered wisely, "I was trying to get students to participate!"
