Simple Pleasures

We went to our favorite neighborhood restaurant for some Tom Yum Goong and Som Tam Thai. We have to pass a large hotel on the way; a gang of touts work there posing as taxi drivers. The touts tried to sell Jason a "body massage" (aka a "soapy") even though he is only two years old. They thought it was hilarious and Poo laughed, too, so I suppose I should just laugh it off.

At dinner, though, I was practically crying. My last Thai food for three weeks! Not to mention needing to say good-bye to the boys and Poo. I felt like Jesus at the last supper. Eating delicious, inexpensive food with my loved ones at our favorite place--these are the simple pleasures that make life worthwhile. As I get older, the simple pleasures are more appealing and world travel is losing it shine.
