Learning Japanese

Internet is super fast in Japan: 15 times faster than the States. Internet cafes are a trip, too; this one is 8 floors. I am on the 7th floor. You lock yourself into a little room. The shelves are stacked with DVDs; most of them seem to be comics but it wouldn't surprise me if some of them are porno. I don't want to think about what this little room has been used for in the past.

I rode up the elevator with a homeless guy; he had a towel in one hand and in the other hand were all his possessions packed in a torn vinyl bag. He didn't stink at all. I guess he comes here for showers.

Tokyo is friendly to the homeless in the summer; I wonder: where do they go in the winter? The homeless are all over Ueno Park and they are friendly, too. Now I wish I had followed my brother's advice to learn some Japanese.

Ueno Park is a fabulous place. I could spend a week there. I wouldn't mind camping there and learning a few phrases of Japanese from the friendly bums.
