It's all good

One of our excellent but anonymous students at our school has left an endearing comment:

DON'T LEAVE US!

It is every teacher's dream to have such good, fun, and interesting students. However, I have family, too. This trip to Northern California has reminded me that I belong with my family. I love Thailand, but I will bring my faimly here so they can experience:

Disc Golf
Trees Bigger than a House
Cool Weather
The Opportunity to be a freak!

I was in Arcata Plaza today, and I was very uncomfortable. I was just a lowly pedestrian, like the other no-good, tattoed, dreadlocked, pierced, lost children trying to find their way. So, why was I uncomfortable? Because all the cars were stopping for me! I was just lingering on the sidewalk, with nothing to do. But the cars were stopping for me, as if to ask: do you want to cross the street? I DON'T KNOW! I was the chicken trying, or not trying, to cross the road.

In Thailand, a big car always has the right of way. A super-limo runs over a SUV; a SUV runs over a sedan; a sedan runs over a normal car; a normal car runs over a motorcycle; a motorcycle runs over a bicycle; a bicycle runs over a pedestrian with a triple latte; and a pedestrian with a triple latte runs over a granma strolling a baby carriage.

But, in California, the pedestrian always has the right of way. A super-limo stops for a SUV; a SUV stops for a sedan; a sedan stops for a normal car; a normal car stops for a motorcycle; a motorcycle stops for a bicycle; a bicycle stops for a pedestrian with a triple latte; and a pedestrian with a triple late stops for a granma strolling a baby carriage.

And a granma strolling a baby carriage has more rights than anybody. I want my children to see that. Wouldn't you??
